Delecated acts for Renewable Hydrogen

The EU is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050, with robust policies to support sustainability and the energy sector.

In 2022, the REPowerEU plan was launched in response to the energy crisis caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This plan aims to reduce reliance on Russian fossil fuels and speed up the shift to renewable energy sources.

A key part of this initiative is promoting renewable hydrogen (REH2) as a clean energy solution. The European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy has developed the Delegated Acts (DAs) to guide and regulate the production of Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBOs). These regulations ensure that the production and use of renewable hydrogen and related fuels like ammonia and methanol significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Discover how these policies are driving Europe's transition to a greener, more energy-independent future.
